Randy Brecker
Randy is an icon of the instrument, helping to shape the sound of jazz, R&B, and rock for more than four decades. Part of the amazing Brecker Brothers Band, he's also performed with a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Parliament/Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius, Frank Zappa, Clark Terry, Horace Silver, Stevie Wonder, to name a very few. He has been a featured clinician at The Annual Charles Mingus Festival, and continues to inspire young musicians around the world. Randy is a long-time friend of Sue Mingus and has worked extensively with Mingus Dynasty and Mingus Big Band. He can be heard on MBB's Grammy-winning album "Live at Jazz Standard".

Alex Sipiagin
Alex S. is a technician full of grace, a trumpet sound soaring with invention and facility. Jazziz Magazine says he "makes it sound almost too easy" and the natural challenges of the instrument are "smoothed into lines that flow like quicksilver." Russian-born, he relocated to NYC after winning top honors in the International Louis Armstrong Competition and has since built a career as one of the world's foremost trumpeters. He is a long-time contributor to Mingus Big Band. He's also been heard with Gil Evans Orchestra, Michael Brecker's Sextet, Elvis Costello, Dave Sanborn, Dave Holland Big Band (with whom he won a Grammy for "What Goes Around"), and can be spotted keeping company with folks like Boris Kozlov and Sergei Nakariakov. His new album NoFo Skies is out on Blue Room Music. Alex S. has played all MBB books, but usually gets second or third.

In a rare opportunity, join the brass section of the Grammy-winning Mingus Big Band for a night of listening & conversation!
