Jazz Workshop has licensed the music of Charles Mingus for use in a variety of film, television, and commercial projects ranging from Hollywood blockbusters like "Jerry McGuire" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" and international advertising campaigns for Volkswagon and Dolce & Gabbana, to independent and short films. Jazz Workshop also offers licenses for festival, dance, marching band, and educational uses. Mingus wrote over 300 compositions, which were recorded by him and others, including the Mingus repertory bands that are managed by Jazz Workshop, Inc.

The Master Recordings of Charles Mingus and Mingus Big Band, Mingus Dynasty, and Mingus Orchestra are controlled, and licenses administered, by the various record labels below. Tunes were often recorded under different titles and by different ensembles, and thweey may be able to provide an alternative to fit your project.
