Honoring guitarist Russell Malone (November 8, 1963 – August 23, 2024)

The staff and musicians of Jazz Workshop send our love and condolences to the friends and family of Russell Malone.

In the mid-90s, Russell worked with Sue Mingus on the 5 Guitars Play Mingus project, performing with the group and later with Mingus Orchestra. We were always happy to cross paths with him and his beautiful soul and guitar-playing, and are forever grateful for his contribution to the Mingus musical legacy. Our hearts go out to everyone in the community.
