Elvis Costello & Mingus Big Band in Brazil at Free Jazz Festival 1997

Lineup: Alex Sipiagin, Randy Brecker, Mike Mossman, Ronnie Cuber, John Stubblefield, Steve Slagle, Mark Shim, Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Earl McIntyre, Clark Gayton, Bruce Barth, Andy McKee, Adam Cruz plus Elvis Costello! The Mingus Big Band backed a few Elvis Costello compositions, and Elvis wrote lyrics and sang on several Mingus compositions.

“Free” was the name of the Brazilian cigarette company, not about “free jazz!”
