This year’s Festival will be a virtual conference celebrating the musical legacy of Great American Composer Charles Mingus!
In light of a precarious time we are bringing the experience of Mingus Music and New York City to you. Festival weekend will feature online workshops, Mingus special events, and a public broadcast showcasing professional and student Mingus performances.
Categories for ensembles include combo, virtual combo, big band, and virtual big band.
New! Individuals can participate directly with entries for solos, arranging, contrafact composition, contrafact transcription, performance transcription, and lyric writing. (All entries must be based on the music of Charles Mingus.)
