Alex Terrier has one foot in New York since 2007 and one foot in Paris where he was born in 1980. He started studying classical piano at 8 years old and discovered jazz and the saxophone shortly after. His first influences were Johnny Hodges, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane.
After graduating from Berklee, Alex Terrier moved to New York where he has been playing with the Mingus Big Band.
He has recorded or worked with George Garzone, Kenny Barron, Jeff Tain Watts, Joe Lovano, Lionel Loueke, Mingus Big Band.
Alex Terrier is also a world renown educator. He is currently teaching at the American School Of Music in Paris, Director of JazzUp (Jazz A Vienne) and has been a guest clinician at Berklee (USA), the Royal Academy of Music (UK), The National School Of Music (Mexico), Buffet Crampon Saxophone Academy (Japan).
